“Rediscovering Saint Salome in a Lost Tomb-Chapel” by Prof Joan Taylor

Professor Joan Taylor

Professor Joan Taylor is Professor of Christian Origins and Second Temple Judaism at King’s College London and an Honorary Professor at Australian Catholic University in Melbourne. Professor Taylor is a leading authority on early Jewish and Christian history, literature, art, and archaeology, with a particular interest in the roles and experiences of women. She is the author of several books, including Women Remembered: Jesus’ Female Disciples(with Helen Bond); What did Jesus Look Like?; Jewish Women Philosophers of First-Century Alexandria – Philo’s “Therapeutae” Reconsidered; and Philo of Alexandria: On the Contemplative Life (with David M. Hay); as well as the editor of Jesus and Brian: Exploring the Historical Jesus and His Times via Monty Python’s Life of Brian. The documentary Jesus’ Female Disciples: The New Evidence (with Helen Bond), has been screened worldwide since its release in 2018, and is available on YouTube.
